Blessing of the School by William Cardinal Goh

Through the generous support of our donors and alumni, our campus at 9 Pasir Ris Drive 6 underwent refurbishment from 2023 to 2025. We are pleased to have returned and resumed full operations in January 2026.
We are deeply grateful for the support and belief in our mission shown by so many.
We were honoured that William Cardinal Goh will bless our school on 17 April 2026. Among our invited guests are our valued donors, as well as partners from the Catholic community.
As a token of our appreciation, guests will receive a gift featuring an artwork by one of our students. Watch the videos to find out more.

A Blessed New Chapter for Our School Community
On 17 April 2026, our school community gathered for a deeply meaningful and momentous occasion — the Blessing of the School by His Eminence, William Cardinal Goh as we celebrated our return to our newly-revamped campus.
The occasion brought together students, staff, donors, the School Management Committee, our FMM Sisters and the larger Catholic community in a celebration filled with gratitude, reflection and hope. It marked a significant milestone in the school’s journey and served as a reminder of the many individuals who have contributed to building the strong and caring community we are blessed to be part of today. The morning began warmly at the school library, where invited guests gathered over breakfast, and conversations connected everyone as they celebrated the shared mission and spirit of the school.
At the same time, students participated in a classroom segment facilitated by their Form Teachers. Through stories and discussions, students deepened their knowledge on how the FMM Sisters founded the school and the various missions they continue to serve around the world. It was a valuable opportunity for students to appreciate the sacrifices, vision and dedication of those who had laid the path before them. Students then reflected on what they have today because of the contributions of the FMM Sisters, ex-HAIsians and donors, as well as the spaces in school they were most grateful for. As a class, students also pledged their commitment to the school community by identifying specific actions they could take to serve others and bring hope to those around them.
The highlight of the morning was the blessing of the school premises by His Eminence. Accompanied by school personnel, students and guests, he moved around key locations across the campus to bless the school grounds. The blessing concluded with the unveiling of the Papal Blessing — a significant and memorable moment for the school community.
Following the blessing, the school gathered in the Blessed Mary of the Passion Hall, where Cardinal Goh addressed the students. His Eminence reminded students and staff to remain rooted in the original mission of Catholic education: to help young people discover their purpose, vocation and fulfilment through service to others. He emphasised that education is not only about acquiring knowledge and skills, but also about forming virtuous character through values such as integrity, graciousness and compassion. Highlighting the school's motto, Ad Veritatem Per Caritatem (To Truth Through Charity), he shared that the pursuit of truth must be guided by charity and concern for others, especially the less fortunate. Cardinal Goh encouraged students to build meaningful relationships, support one another and be mindful of the impact of social media on personal interactions and community building. He called on them to be "stars" that bring hope, encouragement and direction to others through their actions, service and support for their peers. Expressing gratitude to the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, benefactors, alumni, staff, parents and the wider community, he acknowledged their contributions in building and sustaining the school. He concluded with a prayer that the school would continue to flourish as a beacon of hope, forming holistic future leaders who serve both community and nation.
The day concluded with Mass in the school chapel, bringing the celebration to a prayerful and meaningful close. In Friar Derrick’s homily, he reminded the school community that true "home" is found not merely in a physical place, but in God's presence, in community, and in relationships rooted in faith and belonging. Drawing on the example of St Francis of Assisi, he encouraged students to discover their identity and purpose in Christ, grow in peace and love, and support one another as members of one family. He concluded by calling on the Hai Sing community to be a shining "Star of the Sea", bringing hope, guidance and the light of Christ to others through their lives and actions.
The Blessing of the School was truly a whole-school effort, made possible through the dedication and contributions of staff, students and partners who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, strung together by the belief that this milestone marked the beginning of a renewed chapter for the school community.
